TOP 5 Man portable air defense system in the World

1) 9K333 Verba

The 9K333 Verba is a Russian fourth-generation man-portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile (SAM) MANPADS. Its NATO reporting name is SA-25.
9K333 Verba uses Three-channel optical seeker Guidance system (ultraviolet, near-infrared, mid-infrared) . The Weight of 9K333 Verba is 1.5 kg and it uses Solid-fuel rocket motor as an Engine.F light ceiling of 9K333 Verba is Flight ceiling 5 km
The Verba MANPADS is designed to detect and destroy unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, and other low-flying air targets. It is capable of operating independently or as part of a battery and can engage targets in the presence of thermal noise
The latest 9M336 missile has the capability to destroy targets flying at a speed of 500m/s at altitudes between 10m and 4.5km. It can engage targets in ranges of 500m to 6,500m and its reaction time is eight seconds. It can be deployed in both day and night, under different weather conditions

2)FIM-92 Stinger Block 2

The FIM-92 Stinger Block 2 is an American fourth-generation man-portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile (SAM) MANPADS. The Weight of FIM-92 Stinger Block 2 is 3 kg .it uses Solid-fuel rocket motor as an Engine. The Effective firing range is 8 km. The FIM-92J and K are the further upgrades of FIM-92 Stinger Block 2.This upgrade let stringer engage novel threats, namely small Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

The difference between the J and K Stinger is the mounting platform. The FIM-92J is designed to be used from a shoulder-fired launcher, meaning the seeker is always pointed straight forward so the firer can point the system manually at the target. It also has provisions to receive cooling and power from small batteries on the launcher. The K Stinger is designed to be used from land platforms such as the Humvee Avenger. An improved datalink is added between the missile and the launcher that allows the vehicle launcher to cue the seeker to track targets the launcher may have data on. The missile also has a slightly different port configuration to accept electricity and cooling from the vehicle launcher as opposed to a shoulder launcher

3)Starstreak

Starstreak is a British short-range man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS).It is also known as Starstreak HVM (High-Velocity Missile).I t can fly at a speed of more than 4 mach . Starstreak uses Semi-automatic command to line of sight as a guidance system. The Effective firing range Starstreak II is 7+km. The Weight of warhead is 0.90 kg and weight of missile is 14.00 kg

Starstreak II is a truly versatile missile and is most effective when dealing with targets with short exposure times. As soon as a target is detected the operator presses the trigger and launches the missile. (There is no waiting for lock on). The rocket motor system accelerates the missile to greater than Mach 3 in a fraction of a second. The missile system then releases the three laser guided hittiles towards the target. The laser beam riding guidance, which enables precision engagement of the smallest of targets, is immune to all known countermeasures. The hittiles in flight cannot be decoyed by even the latest flares or ECM.

The Startreak II hittiles are designed to defeat both heavily armored and light skin aerial targets. On penetrating the targets the hittiles will inflict high levels of kinetic energy damage and each hittile also has a fragmenting warhead which detonates inside the target to maximize lethality. The strike is highly precise yet the collateral damage is minimized.
Starstreak is versatile, fast, and lethal.

4) RBS-70

RBS 70 is a Swedish man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS).The RBS 70 is a Short-range Air Defense (SHORAD) laser-guided missile system. RBS-70 uses Booster and sustainer with smokeless solid propellant as an engine. It can fly at a speed of Mach 2 . the weight of warhead is 1.1 kg Combined with 3,000 tungsten spheres and shaped charge. the weight of the whole system is 87 kg

The RBS 70 missile can be operated independently in stand-alone mode or can be configured with several firing units linked with a surveillance radar to form an anti-aircraft battery. The truck-mounted Giraffe land mobile radar developed by Ericsson (now Saab Microwave Systems) can be linked to nine RBS 70 firing posts. Typically 4km apart, the firing posts protect an area of 175km². The target data, including range, bearing and velocity is transmitted to each designated missile firing post.
The RBS 70 NG’s modular design allows it to reuse all existing generations of RBS 70 missiles up to the new BOLIDE 4th generation all-target VSHORAD missile.

The latest version is known as RBS 70 NG. The RBS 70 NG aims at the complete threat spectrum from fixed and rotary wing aircraft down to small targets such as cruise missiles and UAVs, out to a range of more than 9 kilometers and with altitude coverage in excess of 5,000 meters.

The combined shaped-charge and pre-fragmented warhead make the system uniquely capable of defeating armored air targets such as attack helicopters and CAS aircraft as well as armored ground targets like APCs.

5)Mistral (missile)

Mistral is french infrared homing surface-to-air missile.M istral uses infrared homing as a guidance system . it uses Solid Rocket Motor as an engine. It can fly at a speed of 2.6 + mach . The weight of warhead is 2.95 kg and its Effective firing range is 6km. Due to its speed and range, the Mistral is a threat to supersonic aircraft such as fighter jets. The quality of the seeker makes it hard to decoy and allows it to be used against targets with the low heat signature, such as helicopters with reduced IR signatures. The single shot kill probability is claimed to be very high.
